His Class 1 chase win over 2m4f at Aintree in October 2025 is the form he needs to recapture after some disappointing subsequent efforts. He was pulled up at Ascot in January and fell at Aintree in April, leaving him with questions to answer on his return. After 204 days off, he tackles three miles, three furlongs further than on his latest appearance. His second over 2m7½f at Newbury in February 2025 offers encouragement for the distance, although that came on soft ground compared with today's good.

Won over three miles on good ground at Perth in June, then finished third at Uttoxeter over the same trip and going, beaten three quarters of a length. His latest sixth at Ffos Las was much less encouraging, beaten 31 and a quarter lengths over 2m3½f on soft ground. The return from soft to good ground and to three miles offers encouragement on the strength of those June efforts. He is now rated 146, 6lb above his Perth winning rating, and faces a rise from Class 2 to Class 1.

Beaten three quarters of a length in a Class 1 chase at Carlisle in November 2025, he has form that would make him competitive here. His Class 1 success over three miles at Sandown on soft ground in December 2024 also provides encouragement for this trip. He needs to recover from being pulled up over 3m1f at Cheltenham in March, however, and returns after 235 days off. A hurdle win at Hereford on good ground in December 2023 offers some encouragement for today's going, albeit in a different discipline.

Finished a length second over this course and distance on good ground in November 2025, a performance that gives him a clear chance on form. His February second at Ascot, beaten a length and a half over 2m5f, showed he could still compete well in Class 1 company. However, his latest third at Aintree came with a 40-length defeat over 3m1f, and he returns after 205 days with something to prove. Dan and Harry Skelton are in good form together, with 14 winners from 45 runners during the past fortnight.

Won over three miles on good ground at Perth in September, giving him a recent success under the same trip and going conditions as today. That came in Class 2, so this return to Class 1 asks more of him despite those encouraging similarities. He won over this course and distance in November 2024, but finished fifth here in November 2025, beaten 32 and three quarters of a length. Brian Hughes knows Wetherby well, with 112 winners at the course, and that experience is a useful asset.

Ended his spring campaign with a Class 2 chase win over 2m4½f on soft at Ayr in April, following a close Newbury second in March. His rating is now 4lb higher than for Ayr, and the move from Class 2 to Class 1 raises the bar. A three-mile chase win at Doncaster in December 2023 offers encouragement for today's extra three and a half furlongs. Today's good ground differs from the soft at Ayr, although his Newbury second in November 2024 came on good.
