His third at Market Rasen on 8 October needs treating cautiously, as he finished almost 25 lengths behind the winner over 2m4½f on good ground. That was a completed race after being pulled up over 3m on soft at Wetherby in January, but it still leaves improvement to find. He is 2lb lower now on 90, which offers some relief without making that latest form look compelling. Today's 2m4f is just half a furlong shorter, with the grade and good ground unchanged from Market Rasen.

Third over this course and distance on 18 October, but beaten 37 and a half lengths, so the placing overstates his competitiveness that day. His September third here over 2m5f also came at a substantial distance, with 20 lengths separating him from the winner. The drop from Class 4 to Class 5 offers a more encouraging change today, although a mark of 88 still needs justifying. Jack Power has ridden three winners from 11 course rides, giving him some successful experience of Sedgefield to draw on.

Went very close over this course and distance on 18 October, finishing a narrow second on good ground in the same grade as today's race. That followed another close hurdle second at Perth in September, while her Uttoxeter second in July adds substance to a consistent spell over hurdles. A rise of just 1lb to 86 from her latest run leaves her with a persuasive chance under conditions that clearly suit. Joshua Thompson has ridden a winner from five rides in the past fortnight, adding a little encouragement from the saddle.

Finished ninth here over 2m1f on 7 October, beaten 48 and a quarter lengths, so his latest hurdle effort leaves a sizeable question to answer. His mark has fallen another 3lb to 85, but he needs to show that he can take advantage of that easing. Returning to 2m4f recalls his closer fifth here in August, although he was still more than ten lengths behind the winner that day. Donald McCain's 167 course wins underline his considerable experience at Sedgefield and provide encouragement on the connections side.

Finished sixth at Hexham on 2 October, beaten 35 lengths over two miles on good ground, leaving him with plenty to find. The return to two and a half miles is no obvious answer, having finished sixth and 36 lengths behind the winner over this course and distance in August. He now tackles a Class 5 handicap from 81, a lower grade than those two hurdle races. Jessica Bedi has had a winner from four runners in the past fortnight, a small positive for his chances.

Pulled up over 2m4f on good ground at Carlisle on 22 October, he returns under the same trip and going with recent form a concern. His preceding outing also ended in a pulled-up effort, that time over fences at Uttoxeter in June, so both disciplines have brought disappointment. A close hurdle third over 3m at Taunton in December 2025 offers better encouragement, and he is now 8lb below the rating he carried there. Brian Hughes brings extensive knowledge of Sedgefield, having ridden 249 winners at the course.

His six-length third in a Sedgefield bumper on soft ground in December showed some promise, but his hurdle form has been much less persuasive. He was pulled up over this course and distance in February and finished seventh, beaten 36 and a half lengths, at Carlisle in March. Returns from 226 days off in Class 5 company, with the same mark of 77 he held at Carlisle. Danny McMenamin brings considerable experience of Sedgefield, having ridden 40 winners here, which offers some encouragement for this return.

Well beaten in eighth over hurdles at Hereford on 26 October, he needs considerably more than that Class 5 effort to threaten here. He remains on 76 and goes up half a furlong to 2m4f, with good ground replacing Hereford's good to firm. His 1m4f Flat win on Lingfield's all-weather in August shows ability, and he was also third on the Flat at Brighton in October. Those efforts offer encouragement, although his sixth over hurdles at Fontwell in June, beaten 15 lengths, also fell short of the standard required.

Seventh over 3m at Perth on 23 September, beaten 20 and a half lengths on good ground, he needs a stronger effort to figure here. That followed a heavy defeat at Perth in July, while his three hurdle outings in January and February all ended in pulled-up efforts. He drops half a mile to 2m4f and is 3lb lower on 70, giving him a different test without establishing that it will suit better. Nicky Richards has enjoyed plenty of success at Sedgefield, with 24 winners from 121 runners at the course.

Pulled up over 3m on good ground at Perth on 23 September, she needs to leave that performance behind as she returns over 2m4f. Her preceding fifth at Hexham in June came in Class 3, but a defeat of 49 and a half lengths offers little encouragement despite that higher grade. The half-mile reduction in trip changes the test, although she remains on the same mark of 69 as at Perth. Sean Quinlan's two winners from 13 rides in the past fortnight provide a modest positive from the saddle.

Finished fifth over two miles at Wetherby on 14 October, beaten 21 and a quarter lengths, leaving him with plenty to find. The drop from Class 4 to Class 5 offers some relief, but a handicap mark of 78 still requires him to show more. He also goes up four furlongs to two and a half miles, so this is a different test from that Wetherby run. Charlie Maggs has ridden two winners from 12 rides in the past fortnight, providing some encouragement from the saddle.
